The fundraising training provided by Fred Bumpass was invaluable to raising the funds needed for my ministry internship. I was terrified of the idea of raising money, but the training was both incredibly encouraging and practical, giving me tools to seek the support of others in my ministry endeavors. Fundraising became much less daunting and instead very doable. I can't imagine not having had the training. The format of the training was great, too. Fred kept it fun and lighthearted. I am so grateful to have received this funding training early in my ministry career. It has been a real benefit to the local ministry. The training was grounded in prayer and recognized the Source, Sustainer and Provider as The Lord Jesus Christ. On this firm foundation, our God given ministry-funding plan was created. It was important to learn that raising support is a process that we need to be dedicating time to each week. In this way, relationships are nurtured with existing ministry partners, while relationships are developed with prospective ministry partners. Often, a supporter will attend a meeting with a prospective donor and share their testimony on why they support the ministry. This has been especially helpful and allowed us to multiply our efforts. The fund-raising training helped me in so many ways. It gave me good guidelines for how to approach people about being on the support team, how to keep them updated, and how much work to expect in finding support.
